Canadians in North West Europe
Guiding is telling you what happened, Exploring makes you part of it.
Our
mission
We are a group of people with many years of experience in researching the First and Second World War in Europe. We are explorers of the former battlefields. Exploring is all about experiencing; You read, you research, you learn and you explore.
It is our mission to research and explore the smaller battles within a bigger Operation. If you come and explore with us, we always offer you a personal story. We specialise in individual history, researching the battlefields where a specific person was. Come explore with us, send us an e-mail about what you want and we will tell you about the possibilities.
Canadians in Italy: The D-Day Dodgers
Want to know more about the D-Day Dodgers? Click here
This is the official name of our foundation. The D-Day Dodgers project is how we started our activities as professional explorers but soon realised the name only focusses on Italy. The D-Day Dodgers were soldiers who fought in Italy and missed out the "great" invasion in Normandy. For us it would be wrong to only focus on Italy and that's why we use our foundation for all lesser known stories.
Our focus
Our main focus is every aspect of the Second World War in Europe. We started with the D-Day Dodgers Foundation (for the Italian Campaign) but soon realised there was so much more. People started asking our help for other researches too. That is when we knew we could do more. And not just because we like to do this, also because we know that the generation that experienced the war is fading away. It's up to us that the story continuous to be told. It's safe to say we are a group of researchers and explorers with knowledge about the war in North Western Europe and the Italian Campaign.
As we all know, without the First World War, there wouldn't have been a second. That fact made us realize we can't just focus on one war, it's both wars you need to focus on. That's why we can also help you to explore the areas of the First World War.
The war in Italy
The D-Day Dodgers, the men and women who were in Italy to fight Nazism and Fascism. A lesser known war and that's a shame considering the hard fighting that took place there.
That's why we work so much on Italian soil. The men and women who endured this war deserve not to be forgotten.
The war in Northwest Europe
Northwest Europe is where we live and spend most of our time researching. You can find us on the Canadian, British and American battlefields.
It's always great to explore and to go back into history. So come and join us and let's go back in time!
