Faces of Mook
Our latest project is Faces of Mook. Mook War Cemetery is a small war cemetery in the town of Mook, Netherlands which is close to the German border and the former Operation Veritable battlefields. There are 322 soldiers from the Second World War buried at Mook War Cemetery.
During the Commonwealth War Graves Commission War Graves Week we have placed 130 photos in front of the headstones on the cemetery. We also gave some tours to people who were interested to know more about the cemetery and the men buried there.
Above you can see some photos made by Nick Bijsterbosch.
The following nationalities are buried there:
- Great Britain: 297
- Poland: 11
- Canada: 10
- Australia: 3
- New Zealand: 1
To make Faces of Mook possible we need donations from the public, so if you would like to contribute to this great project please click on the "DONATE" button on this website. Thank you in advance!
